GOMBE STREAM NATIONAL PARK
An island on the shore of the Lake Tanganyika
Gombe Stream is Tanzania’s home of the world famous Chimpanzee reserve.
It is located 20 km north of Kigoma on the shore of Lake Tanganyika in Western Tanzania.
Gombe is the smallest National Park in Tanzania with only 52 square Km of forest.
Accessible only by boat, the park is most famous as the location where Jane Goodall pioneered her behavioural research conducted on Chimpanzee population.
